There were a few other men and women seated and standing, conversing and smoking, Pete was greeted by some of the men and women and he greeted the others who were equally pleased to see him, he was introducing me and Mum to everyone, most of the time the conversations were boring, small talk always is, especially between adults of this class but it felt amazing to be there, like I was the daughter of an aristocrat or something, all the women bent down and kissed my cheek and all the men took my hand and gave a slow nod of the head and maybe a smile or a wink
